Not possible thats ASB. Brüning forbade SA and SS in April and shortly afterwards also the whole party - they did not even participate.

Well if that Bloke Hindenburg sacked Brüning that might be prevented. BUt if the pollsa re correct without the Zentrum the right would NEVER have the majority, so even without the ousting of the NSDAP the left + Zentrum wouuld have a stable government. You need some silly Zentrum Bloke (And Brüning certainly was NOT THAT Stupid) to ally with the NSDAP and allow it.

von Papen would do it - maybe, but who would allow von Papen to do it.

Oh, this is way, way darker than you realize. Hitler basically wanted to enslave, impoverish, and banish the Jews. Do you have any clue what that would have meant in human terms?

1. No Miriam Halpern at Heidelberg means no breast cancer vaccine.
2. No Albert Einstein at the Kaiser Wilhelm means no nuclear power plants.
3. No Harry Klein to emigrate to Canada might mean no Canada after 1975 (that one's close to my heart, I'll admit).

Think of all the scientists, musicians, artists, etc. who would have had the opportunity for greatness stolen from them - and from us. Imagine the great Eva Hoffman digging ditches. Imagine an illiterate Ernst Graf or Anne Frank. Imagine a Kurt Blum who never saw a chessboard.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of her. Maybe you're too young. She was a very successful German novelist, mainly active in the 1950's and 1960's. I think she had upwards of 30 novels. I have mixed feelings about her writing, as her plots are a bit hackneyed, but her characterizations are great, and they give a really interesting view of Wienken-era Leipzig (when Prussia broke off from the rest of Germany). She died a few years back of pancreatic cancer. Anyway, the reason it has anything to do with the POD is that Frank was Jewish, so if Hitler is as Jew-unfriendly as everyone says he was, she probably would have had a harder time of it to say the least.

OHHH THAT Otto Frank - - what a scandal that was when it came up that he used the money of his ministry to speculate at Wall Street. Many of this projects had to be torn down because of using inadequate material and keeping the balance money for his "gambling" addiction. And he took the whole Hjalmar Schacht government down with him.

Do you English speaker list her a s ANNE FRANK - when you named her father I got the connection- Her books are sold under Anne Holländer. They are quite nice to read, but her themes are a bit outdated today.

Where is the DBWI in the title?

With the following results, I can't see how the NSDAP 'won' either of the 1932 elections:
230 out of 608 Reichstag seats in July 1932 (37.3%)
196 out of 594 Reichstag seats in November 1933 (33.1%)

Would these National Socialists have formed an alliance with Communist Russia? I'm not too sure on their policies but didn't most socialist and communist parties work together before the Five Month War? With a socialist Germany helping out it would of been a much greater ordeal for the Democratic Alliance to take out Stalin.

They became the biggest party, and in multi party systems that means you win.

Unlikely. They refused to even work with the Communist Party in their own government.

No they did not bur the fiskal year of 1934 the KPD voted for the budget and SPD + Zentrum could reign almost a year undisturbed.

Only when many KPD voters gave their vote to different parties in the 1934 election the stalinist factoon took over in the KPD and the SPD refused further cooperation. But then it did not matter as SPD and Zentrum had a comfortable majority which even increased in the 1938 election.
