DBWI: Napolemagne failed to unite Europe into one empire?

What if Emperor Napoleon I, or Napolemagne of course as he is more commonly called, failed to hold onto the territories beyond the Rhine, making his claim to Holy Roman Emperor tenuous and perhaps, allowing the Coalition to remove the Bonapartid dynasty from power?

What sort of event would cause this? Perhaps if he had betrayed his ally Russia?

You most likely wouldn't have seen the massive rebellions that ended up fragmenting Europe after Napoleon's death.Really, most of Europe became failed states due to the decades of war after Napoleon died.I'd imagine that continental Europe would be a lot better without Napoleon's conquest, but then again, our glorious Empire most likely wouldn't have become the undisputed hegemon to this day--ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!LONG LIVE THE QUEEN-EMPRESS!

Undisputed hegemony? Is this a world where the American Alliance, Russian Empire and China simply don't exist? Or is it one where the Indian subcontinent didn't become completely independent and neutral?

In answer to the question, it would depend on how Napolemange failed to conquer Europe. Did he die before he started the campaigns that granted him his fame? If so, you'd most likely see the continuation of a fragmented Europe dominated by the likes of France, Austria and Russia for the future while Britain shifts in alliances between one and the other to stop one from being completely dominant.

Massive rebellions? You mean the rebellion of Prussia and Austria, the two weakest nations in Europe?

Of course the conservative monarchies became failed states, they failed to embrace Napolemagne's reforms that made France so powerful.

Perhaps if Russia betrayed the Treaty of Tilsit. Napoleon would, like Charles de Gaulle 150 years later, invade and conquer Russia. But this conquest would overstretch the French Empire, leading to its collapse.

We've reclaimed the North American colonies and more, the entirety of North America's under our banner. The American alliance is nothing more than a bunch of badly run Caudillo states theoretically under the Bourbons who fled to South America from Napoleon. The Russian Empire is a backwards serf driven country while the Chinese Empire is run by corrupt eunuchs who have no desire to better anyone than themselves.

Napoleon's empire collapsed after he died. The French Empire was powerful yes,but only when he's alive.Nationalist rebellions broke out rapidly after he died. Many of the Monarchs who collaborated with Napoleon were captured and executed.
