DBWI: Muslims Conquer Persia?

Otl, despite some early success, the arab conquest simply didn't have the manpower to hold Sassanid persia, and they were repulsed after five years of war.

Your challenge is to give them that full conquest. What happens after it?

Excuse me, they did, just all was send to Anatolia and Balkans after the capture of Heraclius in Yarmouk and the easy conquest of Constantinople, there was not need as persia was not that valuable after al-Qadisiyyah capture enough loot to focus more in europe. The Persians payed a kingdom for their flag back.

The only way I see it possible is if Persia did not sign the Long Peace with Bysantium.
And selling them later on

The Arabs seemed not have any intention to take over Persia according to documents found in 1998 in Jerusalem. The Persians played smart to make peace after losing Mesopotamia. Humiliating but accepted. The Sassanids fought Civil War afterwards and the Loyalists wrecked the rebellious forces. Had Caliph Uthman attacked the Persians during the Civil War, conquest would be possible, at the expense of less conquest of Roman territory.

The Second Civil War (718-733) is also an era where the Muslims could have conquered Persia. The invasion would have prevented Christianity taking root in Persia and causing war between Christian Persians and Zoroastrian Persians. Today Christianity forms 30% of the Persian speakers of the world. Muslims would have a bigger chance in converting the Persians had they conquered it. Today Muslim Persians are 10%.

Full conquest means Islam and Christianity will take over the Persian society with Islam taking over more than Christianity. So no Persian Orthodox Patriarchy of Kashan. It would be too small anyway.

I gotta say, the Avar invasion of Roman Greece, to support the Slavic Tribes did help the Arab Armies. According to Ioannes of Nicea, the Roman Emperor Constantine IV had barely any troops left. Without the Avars, the Arabs would probably not cross the Straits over. The Roman Navy rebellion and turning into a scary pirate fleet is another thing that helped the Arabs in the short run.

Might Islam spread further, as far as Trans-Oxania, Bactria, Gedrosia and the Indus Valley region, perhaps?

It could have reached as far as China. The Religious wars of China in the early 10th century saw almost a Nestorian victory. The results were horrendous for the Christian faction after being defeated. The Emperors have ever since forbidden non-Chinese religions being practiced outside of their homes. Imagine a Muslim Faction defeating the Emperor.

Err They did not help, the fished up the barrel was set, again that was the last nail in Eastern Roman Coffin as facing two enemies at the same times was impossible and they just folded to the Caliphate Anyway. The Roman Navy was just some butthurt ships captain deserting and take their ships as they thought they would loss their ships to arabs...of course that changed a lot of things and force the Caliphate to adopt a full fledge full time navy...and that opened italy and southern france to conquest.
