DBWI: Milwaukee Brewers relocate in 1902

Over 116 years have passed since seeds of the American League were sown in Milwaukee. For many generations, the fans of Milwaukee and the rest of Wisconsin have been fortunate to watch stars and journeyman players alike don the Brewer uniform with pride.

But in the midst of all these great memories, there's always the question of what if. For instance, what if the Brewers all of a sudden left Milwaukee while the American League was still in its infancy? How long would the city have to wait till regaining another franchise?

Why would the Brewers move? Yes, there was some consideration to moving the team to St. Louis, but the team ownership of the time decided not to move and share St. Louis, when they had Milwaukee all to themselves.

In St. Louis they would always be second banana to the cards. It just does not make sense for them to have moved. Besides, MLB teams don't move. None have moved since the old Baltimore Orioles moved to New York and became the Highlanders in 1901. Expansion? Yes. Add the PCL to the Major Leagues? Yes. Move? No. MLB isn't the NFL (thank goodness).

There was talk of The Braves moving from Boston back in the day also the A's moving from Philly also was talked about to Oklahoma City I believe ?
