DBWI: Michael Jackson lives on?

Hi all,
Everyone knows about the tragic car accident on September 17th, 1987, that killed Michael Jackson.

To be honest I've seen this discussed loads on here, but most of those threads drift in to the conspiracy theories surrounding his death, which isn't the issue I'd like to discuss.
My question is, how exactly does Michael Jackson's post 1987 career pan out?
What else does MJ do during the late 80's, 90's, 2000's and of course the present day?

Discuss.

He might have become an actor. I mean a proper one, not just a musician with a few acting appearances like in The Wiz and Captain EO. Apparently it was something he was seriously considering in the last couple of years before he died.

(Although I don't know how far he would've gotten in a visual medium like acting if his nose continued to mysteriously shrink and become pointier. :D )

He'd probably get one more mega hit album with more #1's then you can shake a stick at before Nirvana and all those grunge boys came in. Once that happens his career is as good as done. Everyone was sick of everything 80's by '92 and nothing is more 80's than "Thriller." Even if he was the biggest pop star of the decade, I can't see him faring much better than any of the other scores of 80's pop stars who got brushed aside in favor of the likes of Pearl Jam etc.

I could see him making a minor comeback in the 2000s via reality TV though. Now that I think about it he'd be a great American Idol Judge.

Wasn't he diagnosed with vitiligo a year before he died or something? I wonder how that would have affected his career.

Ummm, that would demand some Threatment but still he born to be Performer, he loved the scenario, the public, all, he found alive in the stage.

His death was a moment who changed music, with him alive, even Nirvana would have been struggle with him(in fact his death help to the grunge movement who promote Nirvana)

For that he is a legend...

Personally, I think Michael Jackson's immense popularity would have declined in the 1990's. All things considered, his status as "The King of Pop" was a product of Thriller which in turn was a product of the decade in which it was produced. It'd be interesting to see Jackson deal with that loss. Also, the unfortunate trend of Jackson being more known for weird personal quirks rather than his music probably would have continued. It's largely forgotten now, but between 1985-1987 there were an awful lot of tabloid rumors about Jackson, for example, the oxygen tent rumor. Since Jackson's musical popularity is almost certain to decline with changing tastes, perhaps those kinds of rumors will eventually overwhelm the sense of Jackson as a musical artist. In other words, Michael Jackson as the King of Weird, rather than the King of Pop.
