DBWI Mexico stays united

The Battle of Celaya april 1915

Mexican federal forces were ready to march on and decisively defeat Pancho villia, unfortantly for them there were spies in their ranks and the federal forces walked into a prepared trap. The battle was a complete defeat for federal forces, in the south Zapata won a string of decisive victories.

These defeats hurt moral and supply lines which caused further defeats by the end of 1916 the federal government didn't have the strength to destroy either the Zapatistas, or the Pancho's forces, but neither villia or Zapata had the strength needed to take the country as a whole. The stalemate lasted until 1917 when the mutually exhausted sides met and signed the treaty of Veracruz.

Pancho villia would be in control of the restored republic of the reo grande, and mexico surrendered all claims to that territory. Zapata would be in charge of the republic of the Yucatán. The Federal government would keep the center of the country, and keep the name mexico.

The three countries still exist to this day, but what if Mexico had stayed united how would world history be changed?
