DBWI: McCain a Christian

In an article posted this morning on Newsweek's website, an interviewer claims that John McCain describes himself as a "Christian" as far as his religious beliefs are concerned. When pressed about whether he believed that the Bible was true, the Republican presidential candidate is reported to have responded, "I don't know. Maybe."

The Obama campaign has responded quickly, released a statement saying, "McCain's acceptance of obviously absurd ideas demonstrates clearly his lack of fitness for the office of President of the United States."

Polling data released by Gallup indicate that McCain's admission has caused a dramatic decline in support among independents and voters with a college education.

what is McCain on? in this day and age when Deists & Buddhists have a hard time getting over the Anti-Religious vote and into office, to say he's an out and out Christian? wow he must of just given up. but if he is one, Palin is an odd choice for VP (you know her being a hard core atheist, some of the stuff she says.....)

Hm, and you thought the Democrats were taking a risk by nominating a Muslim...

A Christian? Really? Do you know what those people believe? It's totally ridiculous.

McCain is obviously a borderline Christian. But since just about every president has been Christian (with the exception of 1, I think) and the presidents averaged out as good leaders so I'm fine with it.

Oh great... we have another conspiracy theorist on our hands!

Scientology is mostly compatible with christianity anyway. I would much have prefered a smart atheist like Huckabee.

Just a ploy to get all the Christian Democrats' votes. I don't really see why, There aren't that much Christians in the Us, and those that are are also very active Democrats.
