This is the 9th anniversary of MLK's death, and so, I came up with this WI: In 1968, James Earl Ray was arrested on April 4, after attempting to assassinate Martin Luther King, with a shot that thankfully went wide. Let's say he hit, and killed, MLK. What would have happened? MLK remained one of the most major figures in the Left-Wing throughout the 1970s, and remained politically active well into his old age, advocating for immigration reform, among many other Left-wing causes. He even made a couple runs for President, although he never succeeded in earning a nom. How would his early death affects politics? We may see less popularity of Left-wing policies, as he's often credited with mainstreaming Social Democracy in American politics, which helped the rise of President Stewart, among others. Your thoughts?
