Ave citizens.
As we knew it, the Roman Republic is the longest, continous Republican government to control a continuous area of land in the history of earth existing until today.
Since the Lucius Junius Brutus overthrown the last Roman King, Tarquinius the proud back in 244 AUC (509 BC) and founded the Republic, the Republic stayed strong and weathered many inside and outside threats.
The Republic almost fall to many Barbarian invaders at his earlier times, but many historians agreed now that the most pivotal points at the survival of our Republic occured in 709 AUC, when the Heroic Senators led by Marcus Junius Brutus slain the tyrant Gaius Julius Caesar who tried to have his dictatorship powers in perpetuity, his famous cry "Sic Semper Tyrannis!" still rang true inside every Roman's heart until today, as well as 711 AUC, the Battle of Phillipi where the the very same Marcus Junius Brutus bravely slain the aspiring tyrant Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus, the nephew and adopted son of the older tyrant, as well as Marcus Antonius Cretinus, the man who tried to subvert Rome to fall into the accursed Egyptian bitch Cleopatra.
Later on, in a selfless patriotic act, Marcus Junius Brutus, after taking enough time for repairing the constitution of Roman Republic, choose to honorably retire from politics and returned his powers to the senate in 720 AUC. He goes on to write his memoirs and turned his attention to philosophy and teaching the Romans to value Republicanism and honor for our fatherland, and for his actions as well as his writings that saved Roman Republic, the Senate grant him the name of Honestius.
Later, Roman powers both grew and waned, wars won and lost. Lands and colonies added and taken... but for the last 2000 years, the Roman Republic contingously held into Italia, Graecia, Iberica, and Asia Mikhra and today those four regions are deemed as the core Roman Lands. And while sometimes there are revolts and rebellions, the region of Gallia, and Africa mostly stayed into the Republic, even until today.
(OOC: This Roman Republic basically has Iberian peninsula, whole Italy, Southern half of France, Balkans, Asia Minor, and Western half of North Africa in 2771 AUC, or 2018 AD)
While there are, and always would be attempts by aspiring Tyrants to overthrow our Republic, the Roman constitution is strong and our patriotic Senators worked their best to avoid such fate to befall upon our Republic, thanks to Marcus Junius Brutus Honestius' works as our guidances.
But now, what if Marcus Junius Brutus Honestius failed to defend the Republic? Either by unwilling to partake in the slaying of Gaius Julius Caesar, or having defeated by Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus at the Battle of Phillipi?, or worse, end up taking powers to himself and become Tyrants after all of that? Will Roma fall after such fall of the Republic?
