DBWI:map challenge time!

your challenge is to make a map in a world where the entente won the great war must be before 1925 and after 1919

OOC:this is not tl-191.it is a cp-victory world.

So. I concentrated on Europe, mainly because most of the scenarios for colonial adjustments are simply ASB. Anyway. The French take Belgium and the areas West of the Rhine. The Danes get Schleswig back, and in the east the Entente creates an even bigger Poland. I know its slightly ASB to assume that the Reds win the Russian Civil War, but without German intervention.... In the South, the Italians take a huge chunk of the Balkans, with the rest of the area a slavic Kingdom is created. Austria-Hungary is cut to the bone, and is seen as a counterweight to the Czechs which are ultra rightist, kinda like the Russians are in OTL. It also stands to reason that the Brits would have been able to hold onto Ireland.

OOC: The Poster is from Germany and has read too many What-If novels from France.

For the Entente to win the war, they would need to be successful in winning a war of attrition, and either seizing the advantage to advance into Germany, or waiting to starve the country into submission. Following Brest-Litovsk, an entente victory was always going to be that much more difficult though. I can imagine it happening late 1919 or sometime in 1920 as a realistic guess.

My guess is that the eventual aftermath would look something like this:

The situation in 1921 (assuming an Entente victory in 1919/1920)

The Central Powers:

Germany has been punished severely. France will certaintly spearhead this mentality amongst the entente. The German empire has not merely been stripped of it's overseas empire, but German territory in Europe has been given to Poland, and a small amount to Belgium. Furthermore the German Empire has been forcibly disbanded and 6 sucessor states have taken its place. Prussia, Bavaria, Baden-Wurttemburg, Saxony, Thuringia, as well as the refromed Confederation of the Rhine.

Austria-Hungary has, like in OTL, collapsed. However, it will come about by entente force, rather than a civil war. Austria will be an independent country, but it is likely that Bohemia will be a seperate state. Hungary will probably look similar to OTL, but with some territory being lost to Romania and Serbia.

The Ottoman Empire has completely collapsed, and the Turkish domination of Anatolia is well and truly a thing of the past. Western Turkey, including Constanionpole have become a part of Greece. The nation of Kurdistan and of Trebizond have both been given their independence. The Arab territories have been dividied between an enlargened Arabia and three new countries - Mesopotamia, Lebanon and Jerusalem. The rump Turkish state is an insignificant shadow of its glorious past.

Bulgaria has lost land to Greece and Romania, simultaneously reduing Bulgarian strength and removing it's direct access to the mediteranean.

The Entente:

The British Empire has absorbed a lot of the German colonies into its own empire in Africa and the Pacific. Other than that, it will look the same, but will have major interests in the stability of the new European and Middle-eastern states.

The French Empire has also absorbed a lot of German colonial possessions in Africa. Other than that it will have a great interest in the stability of the new European states, in particular the German ones.

Russia has clearly faired the worst of the entente. Brest-Litovsk was respected and re-written while Russia was in the middle of a civil war. When international intervention in Russia ended the civil war, no one was prepared to take their requests for the re-integration of the newly independent nations of Beylorussia and Ukraine into the Russian state seriously, and thus any realistic potential of this happening faded.

Japan has absorbed most of the German Pacific empire into it's own.

Italy has greatly expanded around the Adriatic, taking all of the Dalmatian coast and more. For many Italians, the war greatly inmproved their pride in the country.

Belgium has greater territory both in the form of an expanded Belgium, as well as having added to it's own African Empire.

Serbia is a significantly larger state. With many south slavic lands having been added to the Kingdom.

Romania has also expanded significantly, taking most of the Romanian majority lands from Hungary. The lands of Dobruja have also been fully incorporated into the Romanian state.
