DBWI: Manila destroyed during World War II

Manila, Philippines is currently seen by most as the "Paris of Asia", due to the beautiful hybrid of Spanish and American architecture as well as the Pasig River, which is seen as an analog to Paris' Seine River

After Tokyo, Manila (the metropolitan region in particular) became the second global city in Asia after reforms limiting the establishment of modern buildings to the fringes of Manila or in the surrounding Metro itself.

With am economy of $1.1 trillion, as well as being home to several international and regional organizations such as ASEAN, the ADB, SEATO, and a secondary city of the TPP, what would the Philippines look like if the Japanese forces did not surrender during the Battle of Manila? What if the American forces limited destruction to the city by employing limited use of artillery?

More American for one

After the war Disney started doing their anamation in the Philippines as a cost cutting measure. Due to Walt Disney's racist attitudes most the top talent left and started their own studios.
Would Filipino Animation Studios still be able to dominate The World Market? Or would Japanese anime be able to take over the top spot.
The prospect of no Filipino horror animation being released every October ,with competing studios constantly trying to out do each other would make Halloween seem rather dull.

Well, it took a communist Poland 35 years to rebuild the Old City of Warsaw in spite of the government and Soviet interference, including the Royal Castle and the churches, and the restored quarters are now regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Europe.

I'm guessing with a capitalistic Philippines with American aid, it would take them 15-20 years to rebuild the Intramuros back to its glorious splendor, much like the way Kyoto was rebuilt with American aid after the war.

Occ: an economy of 1.1 trillion? Because Manilla didn't get destroyed?

OCC: One possibility is Marcos may have not been president ATL or the growth of the Philippines retained its 1950s level until 1970s by not embracing import substitution like OTL. But if Manila being destroyed as the only factor, not a solid reason.
