The Manhatten project was america's successful attempt to create a nuclear bomb, but it was also a magnate for soviet spies. Unfortantly for the soviet union one of their spies lost one of their family members to one of Stalins purges, and once in the US he was able to carefully gather the names of all the soviet spys in the project and handed them over to the united states.

This was early in the project and the US was able to capture and turn all the agents, feeding the soviet union false information that some people say set back the soviet effort to make a bomb over a decade. To make things worse, Stalin actually belived in the information so much that he exicuted the soviet scientists who were on the right track!

Now that the event is declassified this has gone down as one of the largest spycraft victories in american history, but what if it had not happened? What if the soviet union was able to get intel on the bomb?
