DBWI: Make Anarchism a fringe ideology

Few ideals have shaped the modern world so fully as the Anarchists' rallying cry against hierarchy, domination and exploitation. It is hegemonic amongst the radical left, and even the moderate Marxian Social Democratic parties have to give lip-service to it. Even the New Liberals of the far-right attempt to present themselves as the modern day heirs to the Individualist Anarchist tradition.

What would have to happen to prevent the rise of Anarchism, and what sort of a world would this create?

During the First Internationale, there was serious talk of an Anarchist-Marxist split. Anarchism eventually came to dominate Marxism as the more powerful ideology in the alliance, but if Marxism split off then the Anarchists would lose a large base of supporters in the future. If Marxism had been distinct from Anarchism, it is possible that after the Great War was won by the Germans, Marxists rather than Anarchists would have taken power in France, Italy, and Russia. If these countries were not Anarchist, then the tidal wave of Anarchism in the 20th century would have had nowhere to spread from, causing the ideology to not gain prominence.

Well I guess the state would continue existing for one, equality between classes and races would never have been achieved,

Marxists could never have gained the support of the working and middle classes as much as Anarchists did, they were too elitist, they didn't inspire passion.

I'm just not sure how's it's possible Anarchist cries for freedom and equality strung a chord and won the hearts of the masses, it was inevitable.

Prevent the Russian Revolution and keep the Tsar in control. The fallout of the Russian Revolution really helped pave anarchism as we know it today.

With authoritarian states in control I think it would breed weak people who would rather watch films and read boring old books than kill each other with chainsaws and fight like real men.

On the other hand anarchism might just be human nature and therefore inevitable. We are truly violent, savage monsters at heart ya' know.
