DBWI Lyndon LaRouche is a fringe figure

Bah, it takes vision to force through something like universal healthcare. Now, I'll concede the point that Laroche's pseudoeconomics were destructive, but had Congress given him leeway, it would have been far more successful. As for the War on Drugs, as you said, it would have been "inevitable". Whereas Universal Healthcare gained it support through a cross-platform initiative spearheaded by Laroche, the War on Drugs was spearheaded by the fundamentalists.

Now, I think we can all detest Fred Phelps. He, simply put, was unfit for command. He could not provide the impetus needed to continue Laroche's policies (foul and fair), and his witch-hunts were devastating to the military and government.

OOC: All hypocrisy and double-standards are deliberate.
Eh, there calls for universal healthcare throughout the Democratic Party (and even in factions of the Republican Party) at that point. After medicare passed, it was the next logical step. On the other hand, tougher drug laws were initially mainly supported by Republicans, and would never managed to get so much bipartisan support without LaRouche. Fundamentalists may have spearheaded it, but he certainly did a lot to enable them.

I wonder if LaRouche is a fringe figure, some crazy Republican perennial candidate like Jack Fellure or Ron Paul becomes president.:p
