What if Erich Ludendorff had not been elected German president in 1925? Would WW2 still happen?? Many consider Ludendorff's presidency as the start of German revengism.
Why so sure of it? Why not far left? Or rather, an attempt of far left to rise to power causing a civil war.The far right would have ended up in power anyways during the depression. Maybe more extremist than the average military dictatorship which ended up in power.
Of course, Germany might have done better in the war if a more competent group ended up in power. White Russia might survived the war intact, and Germany might have been able to stop the Anglo-French offensives in 1943 which took the Rhineland, it was a pretty close fight.
