As you may or may not know, the classic science fiction film "Lord of Light" has recently been released in a special edition Blu-Ray DVD. Of course, this production was famous for spawning a trend of New Wave adaptations to supplement the sci-fi boom following Star Wars. It also increased interest in Hinduism and Buddhism, as well as increased the profile (at least in America) of some Indian actors who appeared in the film (although there were also those protests in India by Hindutva advocates, who were insulted by the film's portrayal of Hindu gods.) Finally, it produced "Science Fiction Land," which, as a kid growing up in Aurora, I always went to. (Surprising that my Indian mother allowed me to go, given her devout Hindu beliefs.). So, what are your thoughts?
