DBWI: Lets be more realisitc about the year of 2000

We're bound to run out of gas at some point. Fifty years ago, everyone and their mother wasn't using petroleum every day in significant quantities. The oil reserves for this can't last that much longer.

Folks, make sure you live close to where you work, because those bicycles are going to tire you out otherwise. ;)

Ha ha: In fifty years, I wonder how these cars are going to look with horses pulling them around town?

Countries aren't going to waste money trying to put people into outer space. That's crazy and pointless. Missiles like the V2 and what-not, maybe, but not rockets for freaking transportation. I just do not see that happening.

Seriously-sized airplanes are going to be used by well-to-do militaries, special-case shipping (that's gotta be expensive!), and travel for very very very important persons.

Itty-bitty airplanes, I can see those becoming big (so to speak) in places like the middle of the United States, so farmers and stuff can visit each other more easily. Maybe we'll find a way for gliders to get up and down more easily once the petroleum runs out.
