DBWI: Lefebvre refuses regularization

I know intra-Catholic squabbles are a little boring, but what would have happened if Marcel Lefebvre, instead of signing the Ratzinger declaration on the SSPX, had consecrated multiple bishops without Papal approval, instead of Fellay being consecrated as Lefebre's tentative successor?

Hello Francisco,

Hard to chart very far into the future, but I smell excommunications all around.

It's a fair POD to ask about, because Lefebvre's position on all that seemed to shift almost from month to month.

P.S. Intra-Catholic squabbles may be arcane, but they are never boring.

Would Williamson have gone his own way in 88, as opposed to in '92 with the appointment of Bisig as Fellay's replacement as Superior?

Would there be such a link between the SSPX and right wing politics in France and America?

Fellay? Williamson??? Who are you guys talking about??? I will remind you that the name of the bishop Lefebvre consecrated was:

MALLERAIS
