DBWI: Lee Harvey Oswald not assassinated by JFK

That's him. His family lost a lot of their property because they backed the old US in the Civil War, so the Communist regime was...less than gentle with them. And so he grew up thinking that the regime was a Jewish plot.

Of course, the conspiracy theories that he'd been in the pay of the British or Japanese Empires abounded after his death...

President Oswald is somewhat deified in these parts. So the standard reply would be an avoidance of the uglyness in sweden, a stronger economy, no scandal over the st louis incident, an earlier end to the african embargo, a jet plane in every garage ect, ect.

Personally I think vice president Harrington was twice the politician and Oswald's death was the best thing for the country given his famously cold relation with the politburo. I would imagine a longer Oswald regime would quickly stall to infighting.

So, many things would be happened if President Oswald (like President Booth) hasn't been assassinated.

Hard to say. JFK being the first President to be removed from office is certainly a significant event that shaped the politics of America in the 60's and 70s'. The massive distrust of government that followed this was one of the reasons why an outsider like Martin Luther King, Jr. got elected in '64 and '68. Maybe MLK wouldn't have been elected at all?

And since JFK's impeachment meant LBJ was President for two years (and he was wildly unpopular, due to the distrust of the Kennedy administration), maybe JFK would have won a second term? I really don't know. Hard so say.

Do you guys think MLK would have still gotten elected at all?

Of course! Who else could have been the first black president? Barack Obama?

The Hall of Fame wide receiver for the Bears? Sure, he's fantastic in his new job as host of Good Morning America, and there were rumors that'd he'd run for Congress in Chicago, but I don't see it. He certainly has the charisma, though.

Maybe James Meredith? He was surprisingly popular as Governor of Mississippi.

OOC: I'm sorry but an African-american being elected POTUS in 1964 is extremely unlikely.
