I can easily see a guy like Larry radically changing television by getting some of his friends to make a crossover to sitcoms. Didn't he use to be good friends with Jerry Seinfeld? Y'all may not know Seinfeld, but he was all the rage a 10-15 years back in the clubs. He now has a pretty good show in Vegas.
Without David's entry into politics I can easily see that Jon Stewart (D-Virginia Beach) might not have returned William and Mary to get his PhD. He would not have become a social activist in the Tidewater area, and would certainly not have become head of the Defense Appropriations Committee. Could he have made it in television? He was trying to get a show on MTV back when he went back to his adopted Virginia.
Stephen Colbert would not be mayor of Charleston and would not be running for Governor of South Carolina. There are a few old clips on Youtube of Colbert's early acting days. He wasn't that funny. I can't see him as having a chance in any ATL
And I totally am in love with my own representative Janeane Garofalo (D-Houston). This girl from Katy, TX (no, she wasn't born there, but no one there was born there). Former City Council at large delegate Garofalo was elected to the US House after representative Jackson-Lee was killed in the failed 8/22 attacks on lower Manhattan and the Houston Ship Channel. All thanks to National Security Advisor Ray Romano for 8/22 not becoming a worse disaster.
If Larry David had not entered politics perhaps the only comedian in politics would be Al Franken.
Can you imagine how dull things would be without Louis CK as Secretary of HHS?
