After an intensive WorldConNext search, I found the people you might be talking about.
If you refer to Alex Hamilton, aka "The West Indian Bastard", his service as captain in Washington's artillery corps probably wouldn't be enough. Besides, the Americans weren't ready for a biracial leader with slavery still in force in the Southron States. That, on top of his involvement in the Bank of the US scandal.
The Jefferson I presume you mean, the fellow who penned the rough draft of the Declaration of Independence? It's hard tor un for President from a debtor's prison, you know.
WorldConNext? Wow. I'm amazed that particular Internet search engine is still around, even after 22 years(I personally prefer BuenaVista, though, as it's ).
But where did you hear that A. Hamilton was biracial? Or that Jefferson was in debtor's prison? I mean, sure, the guy was in debt after freeing his slaves in 1792 but his year long absence from politics in 1798-99 was because of his living in France as that country's American ambassador, and not because of any current legal troubles.
OOC: I've never once been able to find any information even claiming a biracial origin for Mr. Hamilton. Also, WorldConNext? Might make a good name for a search engine, but for the *Internet as a whole, I'd rather just stick with the OTL term, since it's simpler(and more plausible to boot!). Something like *GlobeNet might work well as an alternative, though, if we absolutely must use significant butterflies in that particular regard.
