DBWI: Kerensky didn't make peace with Germany

As we all know, Alexander Kerensky's provisional government sued for peace with the German Empire with the treaty resulting in Russia having to surrender the Baltic states and Poland to the Central Powers. Some historians have labelled the peace agreement as an important factor in ensuring that Russian democracy weathered through the major crisises that it faced and Russia avoided the fate of France, which fell to Dirigism (OOC: TTL's term for Fascism). But what if the Kerensky government had decided to fight on? Would Russia have fallen to communism due to the failed Bolshevik uprising in Petrograd being crushed by returning troops historically? Would the Central Powers still have won the war?

Well, if Russia stays in war and can tie at least some forces that OTL went into the 1918 spring offensive I can see Paris holding out. If the US troops would be able to change the tide is another question.
As for the post-war stuff, it was pretty much personality driven, so it could have turned differently even OTL. Take Mussolini for example, if he dies in the Weltkrieg there'd be no Red Italy.
Furthermore the Second Great Game between Dirigisme Europe with Japan on one hand and US with Russia on the other would be avoided.

Sorry to be the ignorant one here but what's communism?

I've heard of the bolsehviks in passing but I just thought they were just radical socialists.

Well the "great game" between Capitalism and Dirigism led to the decline of both systems. The germanic system of christian livberal socialism prevailed, becuase it took note of both the peoples and the economies needs. Its not surprising that Mittelafrica is the most prosperous ans stable part of Africa today.

I can't imagine that Keresnky fighting on would have been possible - a month or two . the Russian army disintegrated in spring/summer 1917...

Maybe you can prevent the Piave offensive of September 1917 which knocked Italy out.

Communism was that ideology which competed with syndicalism for the hearts and minds of the radical left but was overshadowed by syndicalism after the failure of the Bolsheviks and the Italian Revolution led by Benito Mussolini.
