DBWI: Kennedy had won the 1960 elections.

I have always wondered what had happened if the television cameras didn't malfunction on the day of the national debates because of a defect in the wiring. Nixon was very sick and I think he would have lost the debate if not for that stroke of luck. In 1960 the two parties were very close, and I wonder if a Kennedy victory would prevent the Democrats from reverting to their extreme right-wing roots of the Democrats of the late 1860s and the 1870s and the rise of the Christian Right in the Democrats.
 
It's an interesting cultural bound - Kennedy would've been the first Catholic President.

Aside from that, he'd probably have trouble dealing with the Cuba affairs. Kennedy had been on of the youngest presidents ever - I don't know if he'd have enough experience, even after his 12 years in Congress.
