DBWI: Joseph P. Kennedy Jr killed during WW2?

Former President Joseph P Kennedy Jr has passed away yesterday at the age of 96. According to the late President's memoirs, in 1944, he was to fly a PB4Y stuffed with explosives in a mission, and that PB4Y would explode and kill everyone aboard, but he was sick that day and was thus unable to carry out the mission. What if he boarded the PB4Y and died? Without a Kennedy Presidency (1961-69), how would US politics be different?

Well Rockefeller wins in '60 instead of '68, so he passes civil rights probably 5 or 7 years earlier. Rockefeller would do better in Cuba, and we would probably avoid the wars in Laos and the Congo. And he certainly won't fuck up Indonesia like Kennedy did. Not sure if Rocky would go to China that early. Probably not the pro-Arab shift that happened under Kennedy. We know how well ending our friendship with Israel turned out. Basically a White House that cares about civil rights and one that doesn't have a shit foreign policy. Huge butterflies here.

With which majority in congress would Rockefeller pass civil rights earlier? I don´t see the Democrats allowing a northern liberal Republican bullying around the South. Kennedy worked hard to get a consensus together in the Democratic Party to pass the Civil Right act in 1967. And would Rockefeller even win? I mean the Republicans just won three presidental election between 1960 and 2004. Without a catholic candidate like Kennedy the 1960 election would be propablynot even close.
