DBWI: Jimmy Carter lost the 1980 Presidential Election?

What are you talking about? there hasn't been a war in Palestine since the 81 War.

OOC: Also, The Korea thing is completely ASB; Carter would never abandon US allies.

OOC Except that he did, he planned to have all US troops out by 1982. It was only congressional pressure and a general needing to be publicly relieved for cause after speaking out against it that kept it from happening. Thats OTL.

OOC: Except that he did change course and wouldn't have deviated from that, he was the man who started the Reagan military buildup and began shifting US foreign policy to a more aggressive one.

OOC: Bumping for more responses and adding a Presidents list.

OOC: What.... I was just adding the "OTL" list, is this an alternate prediction of what the ITTL people may predict from a Reagan victory?

OOC: Okay, just clarifying.

IC: Interesting, so you think Jack Kemp never gets the nomination or gets elected in 1992 this go around? I am curious about some of the choices through, Richards? Chafee? Hart as VP?

I assumed that Hart would balance out Edwards' relatively youthful age, and possibly gain voters from the North who would otherwise not vote for Edwards.

I also think that the moderate Chaffee could provide a clean break with the past of the Reagan and Haig administrations.

I chose Richards because compared to OTL, she seems like the only candidate that could run (Clinton's too much of a has been, Brown's too old, McGovern would flounder like OTL).

True, and I guess without the stigma of his 1988 thrashing at the hands of Baker; he wouldn't be such a bad pick on an overall level.

Chafee also might be a good choice in a TL where Biden was never President like OTL, he did really terribly against Biden's VP Bob Graham in 2004 OTL.

Richards seems like a good choice for 1992 through, at least compared to the OTL pick of Gore.
