DBWI: Jimi Hendrix's legacy

Recently, there was a controversial book by chomsky which put former President Jimi Hendrix in a bad light. It said among other things that the war in Yugoslavia was "imperialist" in spite of a proven genocide going on in the region, and that Iraq was "just an oil grab" and that Afghanistan "was a Second great game with Russia" and that he claims John McCain "will start a war with North Korea".

So what do you think was Jimi Hendrix's legacy during his tenure in office?

I think he was one of the greatest presidents in American history. He's policy of "Humanitarian Interventionism" stopped the genocide in Darfur and overthrew the oppresive dictatorship of Zimbabwe.

OOC: Is that me or this is the thrid thread (and the second DBWI) by Avalon1 about a Jimi Hendrix presidency?

OOC: I don't know, but I do remember another one not far back I don't even think is cold yet.

I'm just waiting for Space Bat Ron Paul to convince Hendrix to become a Libertarian Republican in this world, since -from other timelines- I know someones gonna say it happens.

what do you think of John McCain?

I believe he will do a better job as President than his predecessor John Kerry. So far, he has not started a war with North Korea. You would have thought that after 8 years as Vice President under Hendrix, Kerry would be up to the job.

As for Mr. Chomsky, he should stick to his day job. After Governor Weld appointed Elliot Richardson to Kerry's Senate seat in 1996, Chomsky ran for it in 1998. And Weld defeated Chomsky in a landslide with 80 percent of the vote. Even Ted Kennedy openly campaigned for Weld.

When do you think the Jimi Hendrix Presidential Library will open?

forgive me for this, since the other one was too short.

But i assure you that this will be the last one on this issue.

Saying that the US bombings stopped the genocide in Darfur shows a total ignorance on recent history. (OOC: I don't feel like beeing nice and humble in this DBWI, sorry.). First of all, the Saltsjöbad treaty had very little to do with the US bombing campaign, the bombing did barely procede beyond attacking the air defence and given the waste areas to hide in, there is no way they could achive anything.

Not that he could act in any other way, the Republican senate and congress blocked a land operation leaving few option.

In fact, the real reason they signed the treaty was the great risk of another islamic coup lead by the saudi dissident named Usama bin Laden. That is what caused the quick treaty and the deployment of German troops to Karthum.

In fact, the treaty was signed so quick a lot of the maps wherent made so there will be no suprise is some conflict may reemerge.

well, i have just watched John Pilger's "the War on Democracy" and it just sickens me how Pilger has gone over the deep end with supporting dictators such as Slobodan Milosevic and Saddam Hussein.

It was particularly disgusting when George Galloway appeared giving a speech about Saddam.
