1973 Jane Fonda a prominant anti war activist, went to sit at a meeting with Vo Ngyen Giap and the leadership of North Vietnam. Back home many people hated her for her visits and public support for the north vietnam regieme including doing photo ops with North Vietnam guns.

Some people imagine that she was charming during this dinner, she had her best outfit on, make up done up to the nines, and had a nice expensive purse. We see her last photo and she's smiling for the camera, but in that purse was an experemental radio, and as she sat down to eat she flipped it on.

15 minutes later an experemental cruise missile struck Hanoi killing Jane Fonda and most of North Veitnams leadership. Soon afterwards the cities airdefenses were struck hard, in the chaos Operation Spector was launched. A comando strike with helecopters to free american POWs in North Vietnam. A few people died during the attack but most of the prisoners were successfully rescued.

In the aftermath of the attack North Veitnams leadership was gone, the country would soon go into a brutal civil war, where soviet and chinese back groups would fight to the death. The civil war would last until the late 80s when it was conquered by south Vietnam.

For most of the 70s and most of the 80s Jane Fonda was reviled by american servicemen who thought she was a traitor, it was only in the last year of the Regan presidency that President Regan declassified her files and showed the world that she had been working for her country the entire time and willingly gave her life for the cause.

But what if Jane Fonda wasn't a spy, what if she hadn't been the ardent patriot she had been in OTL or willing to give her life for her country. What would our world look like today?
