DBWI: I'm Planning My Vacation in Prussia

With summer just over a month away, I have decided to spend my one week vacation in Prussia.

Do you have any advice to offer me while I am there?

Don't go into any of the former Russian zones, apparenlt they're riddled with gang violence, just stick to the cities and enjoy the history.

Do not go by way of Hanover, or the UK for that matter, if the Prussians see ether stamp on your pass-port you'll spend the next 4 hours learning the meaning of "full body search" I'm not sure why King Friedrich Wilhelm VI is so pissed off at his uncle King Augustus III but take from me you DO NOT want to be in the middle of it

I herd that, I also herd they are not to fond of Bavaria. Could anyone enlighten me on that one?

oh Anti-Catholic feeling has been a big Prussian thing for years, before even Minister President Otto von Bismarck's Anti-Catholic league became the driving force in Prussian political life, more or less the Pope and Bavaria are political buggy men in Prussia.

Typical response of someone who's never been there. Ossis aren't all thieves and scoundrels, the former Russian zones have been a source of lots of investment over the last decade and it's still unspoilt by tourism (thanks to the uneducated opinions of the likes of you). Königsberg is absolutely gorgeous, thanks to its Prussian and Russian history it's got a really interesting East meets West feel to it, with Orthodox Cathedrals overlooking Lutheran churches, and there's a thriving market of Russian nostalgia items.

Yeah, Konigsberg is okay, but not quite as nice as many parts of the Austro-Bavarian Social Republic{P.S. I've been there, too. The social justice program imported from Brazil in the late '40s really worked wonders; kept things going after the German Empire broke up in 1985.}
