DBWI: If Russia hadn't become Fascist?

Would Europe as it used to be have survived? Or would a mega empire still have gotten it, and when it collapsed, brought everything down with it? All of Europe, except the UK, was taken by them. Even the UK was demolished by chemical weapons before they retreated back to Russia. They still ended up demolishing so much infrastructure in Europe that it still hasn't recovered, especially Germany, which has become a wasteland from the scorched earth tactics they did. Remember all the chemical and biological weapons they ended up using?

Also, Japan? Like Germany, is still a wasteland, with the chemical weapons having destroyed the ecology to the extent the place has become virtually impossible to inhabit.

Yep Europe would have survived, Fascist Russia happened to get lucky and timed its buildup and invasion perfectly, after all the political crises of 17, the second depression of 39 and all, not to mention the Pacific War which distracted Britain and France, and them not letting Germany rearm, so yeah would have survived

OOC: This ain't quite ASB but you are skirting the edge of it

OCC: As I discussed in other threads, a Fascist Russia that successfully industrialized would be a BEAST, that would make Germany and Japan look pathetic when it comes to their ability to conquer, and survive attacks by opposition from say the USA.

OOC: Yep, but taking the UK is that part, there is something called the English Channel and the UK could outbuild anyone but the US in terms of ships, I have few problems with anything but them

OCC: Russia could've built up a naval capacity. They have a LOT of industry in this scenario, which means unlike Germany, they CAN build whatever they want, similarly to the US during WW2.

OOC: Doubling their Industry from OTL gives them 3x times that of Britain or 3/4 that of the US. That said they have to build this infrastructure from scratch then build the needed fleets, which Britain already has and their OTL designs sucked and they won't be better ITTL without lots of experience, Britain had been building this for decades, it will take Russia at a decade or two to catch up

OCC: EDITING TIME!

OOC:Much more plausible

IC: Yep, that Mega Empire was a fluke, only did as well as it did due to luck and timing, panic in the Pyrenees, that surprise attack on Denmark and Sweden with Cargo ships etc.

I don't know. Part of the reason was that not only its industrialization, but that the US took until 1941 to finally enter, and by then, they had seized all of Europe through a spearhead tactic that allowed them to rapidly gain territory. That itself was developed from tactics they observed during the Russian Civil War, among other things.

Additionally, that industrialization they did sealed the deal. With such massive industry, and because of where it was located, it took the US forever to finally stop them. Hell, it looked they would push the USA out of Russia entirely until the US finally used nukes. They had so much manpower, so many resources, and their willingness to use scorched earth so much doomed Europe.
