RFK's involvement in Ulster cast a big shadow over his PM'ship, and contributed to its end. WI he had not been convinced by the UK PM, Enoch Powell to send troops to Ireland. I know the American Dominion had at the point for 200 years committed itself to protecting the Mother Countries Empire and indeed in 1798 US troops played a decisive role in defeating the uprising, but RFK changed the policy, he withrew from Malaya and Kenya and convinced HM Queen Elizabeth II to ovwerule Powell and support the Indian Independence Bill, but why did he bang his head against Ulster.

He did not like Powell, HM was against the Ulster policy, it was unpopular at home, and he could have accepted HM's counsel when she came for her visit in 1971.

(OOC: Thaks to rouge beaver for such an excellent thread. BTW in this DBWI, the world of the linked thread exists).

OOC: That reaction is grossly ASB. IOTL RFK once said to a British embassy official in a heated exchange: "my family is in the United States because you, the British, drove us out of Ireland".
