DBWI: Hitler the Dictator

Well he was ousted officially in 1944 but his government actually survived until 1945 with the help of French occupation troops in the north--even though the south of Spain was occupied by Britain.

OOC: sort of like Italy in WW2, replace Germany with France

You should have saw that Rouen trials. The croix-de-feu leaders tried in the same place as joan of arc.

Based on what I read about during WW2, he's no figurehead. he was a core leader of Allied forces who defeated Picasso's Phalange regime and Mussolini's Fascist regime.

Also, Schlacht's president. That's saying something.
It's strange how Germany, punished quite severely after WW1, did not fall to a dictatorship, while Picasso's Spain, De Gaulle's France, and Mussolini's Italy all did.

The de-militarization of the Rhineland worked all too well for the croix-de-feu, who charged through the weak Siegfried line and took over Germany during Operation Napoleon, after which Hitler was exiled to Britain until his return in 1944.

Luckily De-Romanization turned those countries into democracies after the war.

That was despite that Hindenburg's invocation of Article 48s. and all three countries were VICTORS of WW1.

and the france should remember why they overthrew King Louis XVI.

Yeah, the factors all aligned in the strangest way possible; one of the most unusual episodes in history. Even as late as 1920s, it looked like the Soviets were going to be the biggest threat to peace. Rather it was the West Romance countries, who fell hook line and sinker for fascism and Mussolini's claims of "Mediterranean-Roman racial superiority".

I wonder if he'll allow Spain under the Salvador Dali regime to join the Axis.
Salvador Dali's social democratic administration was doomed from the start, thanks to attacks by Picasso's "legionaries".
