Agreed, let's not get off topic, particularly when you offend people.
Well, considering that too many Commie-sympathizers are using him as a symbol of virtue, it seemed terribly appropriate to knock them down a notch. Next thing you know they will start saying that we would have a Negro or woman as a presidential candidate in this ASB world....A good debate, but please leave King out of it, okay?
IC: Yeah, there's a slight chance that that Hitler fellow would've come to power, if the rest of Europe hadn't agreed to decrease the severity of it's reperation demands upon Germany. It saved the Germany economy during that "Recession" period of the 30's. Man... was THAT a close one.
But in the end, little Adolf wouldn't have been able to do anything, what with guys like Chamberlain there, they would've stopped him from his mad ambitions and talk of a "master race," whatever the f*** that was all about.

OOC: Again, these are beliefs that are completely opposite of my OTL beliefs. My idea is that the institutionalized anti-Semitism and racism that was so prevalent in The Great Gatsby, would still be in place in the ATL.....
If there is some sort of Cold War in this ATL probably not. That also weakend racism since it hurt one of the strongest departments in the US, the State Department. Racism greatly hurt US diplomacy in the Third World so there was a considerable amount of backing there for less racist policies.
That is certainly hard to imagine, especially considering how the Du Pont, Rockefeller, and Ford corporations were supportive of the National Socialist Party starting in 1928, long before the rise of Adolf Hitler as a political figure. Also with political leaders on both sides of the aisle like Joseph P. Kennedy (D) and Charles Lindbergh (R), it seems almost ASB to imagine an American administration being hostile to German-American relations.I think two things would have also happened that haven't been mentioned. The 1930s depression might have lasted past 1934. The revival of trade after the reduction of reperations of Germany started reviving the World's economy in General. The second thing is that German-American relations would be considerably worse. The US wouldn't neccesarily have Germany as one of its key allies.
