DBWI: Hirohito isn't assassinated

I know that the rise of the JNP is mostly due to immigration issues (Japan has become a much more multiethnic society since the end of WWII) and not so much due to nostagia for the imperial era, but still, it's scary.

Well, there are substantial ethnic Korean populations in Fukuoka, Osaka and Tokyo and substantial ethnic Chinese populations in Yokohama, Kobe, and Nagasaki. There's a small number of die-hard Japanese that want them out, but when you have 11 million people of Korean descent and 5 million people of Chinese descent living in Japan, kicking them out is out of the question. Especially when Masayoshi Son (who's of Korean dscent), the former CEO of Softbank, is now head of the Japan Socialist Party and Prime Minister.

And every August 14th, you have a bunch of zany nationalists with sound trucks traversing the streets of Tokyo and Osaka demanding ALL of the Kuril Islands and the southern half of Karafuto (as Sakhalin Island is known to the Japanese) back. (And this is after Russia returned the four westernmost of the Kurils--the so-called Northern Territories--back in 2000.) Just help me.... :noexpression:

Ah, you mean Akihito being one of the important dignitaries there when the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall opened in 1990? The Chinese people hugely appreciated that act, to say the least.

Don't try and downplay his full dogeza as simply being there. Showing up would have been nice, but the dogeza was really key.
