Hibernia, despite its recent misfortunes, is now a respectable land under its powerless High King, its law codes reformed along the lines of Hispania, Neustria, Sudergothland, Italia, Allemanica and the Hunnic Lands and though its people do not accept Mithras, Isis or the Platonic Ideals, it conducts itself without war to the kingdoms it neighbors.
Many forget that in the last Universal War, the Hibernians allied themselves with the mad Emperor Zuan Xi who sought to avenge China's defeat by Cipan and Koguryo in the initial war and blamed China's problems upon Buddhists and killed them in great numbers. The High King allied himself, hoping to gain territories in the Eastern colonies and territorial holdings along the Mare Nostrum. The Hiberian warriors believed the High King to be the living embodiment of the Celtic god Lugh.
The Aegyptians initially sought to not involve themselves in the war, having economic problems caused by a drought that contracted the Nile called the Great Depression. Then Hibernian armored rocket gliders attacked the Aegyptian military base upon the Isle of Cyprus. The Pharaoh of the Turkic Dynasty proclaimed the infamy of the Hibernian attack and then began to battle against them, joining the war with Cipan and the remnants of Koguryo's fleet and army that did not obey the puppet government in Kwangju. While Cipan was blockaded by subsurface warships, it was not invaded, though it feared it, but research has shown, like the Mongols before him, an invasion of Cipan by Zuan Xi would have not passed the storms or the Cipanese war fleets.
Aegyptian armies aided Cipan in invading Koguryo and ultimately, Zuan Xi killed himself within a tunnel in Nanjing and his eunuchs were put on trial and the most murderous of them executed.
Aegypt dropped two large bombs of naptha upon Donegal and Cork by armored glider several months later after bloody fighting on the Isles of Wight and Jersey. This confirmed Aegypt as the main power after the war's end and rival of the Khan of the Hunnic Lands.
But what if Hibernia had, for example, sent more waves of armored gliders against Cyprus, destroying more of the Aegyptian war fleet and its kerosene tanks? Or if Hibernia had won at the Battle of the Dog Islands off the coast of Hispania or Magna Graecia? Would they found their purported Greater Mare Nostrum Commonwealth?
