Well, his commitment of Canadian Forces to Iraq proved to be quite unpopular- though it did provide vital support to Bush after PM Clegg withdrew the UK's troops. (To be fair to Harper, the actions of the infamous Colonel Williams were not his fault. Harper was shocked when he heard of Williams's actions to both Iraqis and Canadians- and it helped ensure Williams was the first Canadian to be extradited for the death penalty since 2001.)
