DBWI: Greeks defeated at Thermopylae

What if King Xerxes of Persia had realized that there was a lightly defended pass nearby that would have allowed him to outflank the Spartans? Suppose instead of withdrawing on the 3rd day he had exploited that possibility? Athens would surely have been burned posthaste, and could western civilization have survived such a crippling blow?

OOC: I'm confused, because this is a Double Blind What If, don't you mean what if the Greeks had won at Thermopylae? Because I assume in this Alternate world they lost. Or are you actually wondering what if the Greeks had been defeated at Thermopylae?

No, in our OTL the Greeks lost. In this ATL's OTL the Greeks won.

(OOC: I am aware that the Greeks were really defeated at Thermopylae. It's a Double Backwards What If, wherein we pretend to be from a world in which OTL's real history didn't happen. It's a double twist, like for example- what if Lee was defeated at Gettysburg, that sort of thing.)
