DBWI: Germany's presidential election debate

Even the Americans didn't manage to schedule that earlier. :D

Why did it really have to take until November 6, 1962 until we see skirmishes before elections right on TV? And then in Germany, but alright, didn't they indeed invent TV? Both Adenauer and Frahm (OOC: Brandt without renaming) were heavily polemizing but were both well on rhetorics, I really loved it!

But somehow I don't know yet what the real differences between an Adenauer and a Frahm presidency are to be, I mean substantially. Oh, and it seems to be no surprise that Reichstag elections are also scheduled for January 1963, they dissolved Reichstag just for that purpose.

As if it was that bad to have "two captains on the same boat", the Germans are real idiots. The president is the captain, of course! That's why we French adopted the Fourth Republic, they wanted a strong presidency as well. La Rocque was still the best, De Gaulle yet has to show if he's also a good civil commander-in-chief. Oh, and yes, the French also want to do this "civilized battle" procedure for the 1965 presidential elections.

The Americans are still reluctant to introduce that scheme for 1964. Don't they have an ass to sit on anymore?
