DBWI: George Pataki wins in 1994?

I've been forced to look up info on New York's recent history (Not sure what that means, I guess its from the 1960s onwards, Rockefeller and stuff like that), and I found out about some guy who was called George Pataki, he ran against Cuomo (^^) and nearly won, Campaigning as some sort of Mesh of Moderate and Conservative Candidate. It's weird how close he came too, only 1 point from the Governor's mansion. I know the Republican's and their Contract with America crap was far reaching, but Goddamn: They gotta take out Mario too?

So, my ponder is, what if Pataki was able to pull off a win? Would he be in the running for Veep if Wilson has his surge ITTL? Or would he be left in the dust as an obscure Governor? If he does win, what's the impact on Andrew, would he be able to have a Political career later, if at all? Since the only reason he got elected in 1998 was off the back of Cuomo's success, how would the Clinton Presidency be affected? How would the rest of the decade be affected?

So what's your view AH.com? :)

(OOC: Ah, a New York TL): Well, a VP spot is unlikely. The GOP would rather have someone from a state they can win than a governor from a state they can't. If he won, he'd probably stay in office only one term and then lose.
