DBWI: Frederick North does not catch TB

This year marks the 236th anniversary of the adoption of the Galloway Plan of Union. The plan brought a peaceful end to the Colonial Crisis between the United Kingdom and its North American colonies. The plan had been heavily opposed by hard-line British politicians, including PM Frederick North. North's death from tuberculosis in the summer of 1774 caused opposition to the plan to collapse.
Now suppose North had not come down with TB and remained healthy. Would the plan have still passed? Would Britain still be able to ameliorate colonial discontent? What would have been the consequences for the British Empire as a whole?
