DBWI: Fate of Central Powers in an Entente victory world?

Why would Denmark be compensated, or are we to assume that it was not neutral in the scenario presented?

I'm thinking the Entente might want to reverse the process of Danicization by directing some of the irredentism in Germany towards the north.

OOC: "Danicization" is TTL's equivalent of Finlandization. It actually started before the POD, after the 2nd War of Schleswig.

Why dissolve Bulgaria entirely?

The Bulgarians themselves would request it after the anti-CP, pro-Yugoslav Agrarian leader Alexander Stambolijski would come to power. Since the alternative would be a large loss of territory to the Serbs, most of his countrymen would go along with it.

Maybe they'd try to unite the whole place into a strong Yugoslav state that included Montenegro with a small Hungary and large Romania as neighbors.

Montenegro had its own monarchy. It would eventually join the federal kingdom, no doubt, but only after some sort of personal union was arranged.

I wonder also of the Czech and Slovak lands could have been attached to this hypothetical Yugoslavia too.

Then it wouldn't be Yugoslav anymore. But I don't think either side would be interested.

I suspect that the Americans might have a different idea for Palestine, assuming that they are involved in the negotiations.

Such as?

Also, as much as the Greek irridentists wanted that land by the coast, if I recall correctly, there lived in the area many non-Greeeks, and Greece controlling that area might cause some problems.

Those non-Greeks will have the same fate as the non-Greeks (and non-Christian Greeks) in the territories acquired before the Great War.

I had some more thoughts regarding this thread:

1) A stronger Britain will probably be able to solve the Irish issue in terms more to its liking and the Unionist-Nationalist confrontations in Ulster would be quickly suppressed. I expect that 4, 5, maybe 6 Ulster counties with Protestant majorities would be excluded from devolution, but I couldn't tell you how long that would last.

2) Given the traditional British policy of maintaining a balance of power on the continent, Germany is more likely to retain Upper Silesia and some territory west of the Rhine - I'm thinking of a strip of territory from Ludwigshafen to somewhere north of Aachen, allowing them to keep all the important German cities on the left bank of the river while leaving it without any serious potential for an attack on France and Belgium.

3) The dividing line between French and Belgian gains would be the Moselle river. The Dutch might also receive some territory for the same reasons the Danes would.

4) Regarding the Slovak territory gained by the Czechs, it'd probably extend east as far as Kassa, but I think it unlikely that it would reach the Danube to the south. Almost all of it would probably be highland.

5) Great Britain would be interested in parts of Kamerun: the Cameroon Range, the coast down to the Sanaga river and the access to lake Chad. These would all benefit British Nigeria.

6) Portugal might still eventually be forced to sell some of its colonies, and Germany would be in no position to make an offer.

OOC: I find the way it parallels the current Egyptian-Israeli border suspicious to say the least - not to mention the very fact that Syria would extend to the Red Sea. And did the Hashemite Syrian state even declare its borders? I think I'll put more trust in the map that I know was made before the war.

YOU'RE WRONG....

Honestly, why do you people always think that the Central Powers would fare so badly?

In 1918, after Italy and Russia exited the war, the Allies were woefully outnumbered. The German Spring Offensive all but crushed the surviving Allied troops on the Western Front. What's the POD? That Wilson somehow manages to bring the US into the war? Dream on.

I've got a good one . Why not let someone somehow leak out the Zimmerman Note to the US Public during World War I ? As I recall , it's declassification in the early 50's caused quite alot of anti Mexican Sentiment in the southern US.

First of all, chill down before you make yourself look like a total noob. Second of all, if I have to choose between a map that I know was made before WWI and a user-made map from wiki to understand the pre-WWI situation, I have no problem with picking the former.

As for the other map you posted, since all the names are written in the Arabic alphabet, it's could very well be full of errors that de-legitimize it. I can't possibly comment on it when I don't know what it says.
