DBWI: Failed German Revolution

Then I'd suppose France, Belgium and the UK wouldn't have stormed into the Country, told Poland to eat whatever it wants, and then carve out even more territory.

Heck, Germany might have remained a country instead of a giant confused civil war.

Germany would probably have resurged and became the economic powerhouse of Europe instead of some backwater puppet of the Soviets.

The Soviets would probably have not gone to war with Japan if they were worried about Germany.

Do you think Poland would still become the Great Regional power annexing half the Baltic and Germany if they had a stronger Governement?

I would be harder. It wouldn't be regarded as the lone anti-communist guardian of the region. Also it's not unimaginable that Germany could hold onto some parts of Upper Silesia, like Opole. And possibly without Gdańsk and protectorate over Królewiec, Polish access to materials from UK and France would be way more difficult.

OOC: This has moved very quickly into ASB territory. A successful Revolution in Germany would have immediately resulted in the USSR charging into Poland from the East while the Germans moved in from the west. Germany would be the dominant power in the USSR, not Russia.

No, I think if a Kiel based revolution attempts to spread throughout Germany, France, Belgium and Britain march in. Germany will just collapse and the UK and France wind up stuck holding the pieces. This would just mean that the "Stabbed in the Back" myth has a lot more truth than one might imagine--the socialist takeover leads to the Allies storming in, a step far beyond Versallies and likely to end to even more extreme abuses of the German state.

No, the Reds are stuck fighting the whites at this point, they will not invade Poland. Germany will be forced into a new order that results in even more territorial losses (French Saar and Bade?) and whatever post-revolution government emerges is going to have to swallow massive territorial losses to its neighbors. In short, this will lead to Germany having it even worse than OTL...

OOC: unless these remarks are OOC, I think you've missed the point: this is a DBWI thread.

IC: I'm not sure that the Allies could sustain an offensive into Germany. Their own troops, and especially their home fronts, were exhausted, with the exception of the Americans who nontheless relied on local logistical support. Under these circumstances I don't think the Allies could have made a much greater incursion than they did into Hanover and Hesse before their momentum ran out. While it's true that a capitalist Germany would probably have kept some territories that became French puppet states, I don't think the situation post-war would have been much better.
