DBWI: Failed Beer Hall Putch

As we all know, Hitler and the and the antisemitic Nazi party managed to gain control over some parts of Bavaria during the Beer Hall Putch of 1923 that resulted in a four year long civil war between the left-wing Spartacists, the Nazis, and the right wing government. Eventually, the government managed to win and Hitler fled to his home in Austria where he died in the 1960's. But what if the coup failed horribly thus bringing a new party into power. How would this affect Germany and eventually the world?

How would the coup failing help bring them into power? If anything the Nazis IOTL gained a lot of support and sympathy from their reputation as heroic martyrs who fought against the Bavarian Communists before being betrayed by the Weimar government. If the coup had been a total disaster then its likely that the Nazis would have remained an insignificant footnote in German history and Hitler would have likely faded into obscurity, instead of eventually being appointed Prime Minister of Austria.

Exactly but the question is, what would happen to the communists? Stalin had a pretty low opinion of them as they allowed Trotsky to become one of their generals. Also, a large amount of them still survive in far-left socialist parties today. Would they just fade into obscurity or become the leaders of the new Germany.
