DBWI: Evil Hitler

Your task here is to create a TL in which Hitler is seen as one of the most evil people in the world. Does he start some big war in the 40's? Does he really try out that Purity Program in 54? Go nuts!

With the lack of healthy young men and women after WWI, we all know Germany was doing everything to get more and more workers into the nation. The whole "One-Drop Rule" was an interesting idea, giving full Citizenship to anyone that even had "One-Drop" of German blood in their veins. It was Pseudo-Science to claim that German Racial Heritage "Over Powers and Dominates" all other racial heritages in a person. It does however, explain why Germany is one of the most racially diverse nations on the planet.

As for the Purity Program, attempting to deport anyone who didn't have German ancestry would have been disastrous. That particular program was do to failure once Albert Einstein promised to resign from Hitler's cabinet if it went through.

Just the thought of comparing someone as benevolent and generous as Hitler to a genocidal maniac like Ghandi turns my stomach.

OMG! Do you morons know what WI means?

I am not saying Hitler is a terrorist, nor am I saying I want a nice little history of how the world works. We all know what Hitler did in the 30's to the 60's, so I do not need them restated. I want to know how Hitler can be seen as the most evil man in the world, what does he need to do? Kill a bunch of people like the Tsar? Start a war? Take over land? What?

Martin Bormann wasn't killed in 1934

Many have said that if Martin Bormann had not been killed in the failed Ernst Rohm putsch of 1934, Adolf Hitler's career would have taken an evil turn. While Hitler was revered as a charismatic, spell-binding orator, historians feel that he was weak-willed and prone to falling under the spell of the opportunistic Bormann.

All of the above and more. He needs a change in ideology, maybe something akin to that fascistsyncharist* party running the show in Switzerland now.

I can hardly imagine how he could turn evil. He painted great masterpieces such as Guernica, The Flies, and all those cubist paintings. He designed great buildings such as the Bundestag of Austria, and the New Brigde of Vienna. I can hardly imagine how such a gifted artist, architect and sculptor turn evil (especially when he made millions while he was still alive!)On top of that, once in a while, he does speak out in radio concerning World Peace and Justice.

Perhaps, if he were to lean a little more to the left, then those radio speeches may get him arrested and somehow turn him evil. But this is bordering on ASB territory.

Or maybe, someone may take some of his works of art too literally.

OOC: We already have it that Hitler was a world leader. And that he was in Germany.

OoC/ Making him a painter, sculptor and architect doesn't mean he can't be a world leader too. /OoC

What you need is a powerful and, obviously, evil influence on Hitler early on in his life, I hear there was some sort of racist Nazo party [or something like that] in Germany at the same time Hitler was there. If he had attended one or two of their rallies it might have made him a Nazo.

With Hitler's charisma and winning personality on their side, the Nazo party wouldn't have fizzled out, as it did, its staunch opposition to the Hitler-led liberal [liberal for the time] government proving its downfall in OTL, with Hitler on their side, there may be no stopping them.

I think the real effects will be felt during the Second Great War, without Germany on Britain's side against Gaullist-Fascist France, we might be seeing a Grande L'État Français forming, with Britain suing for peace!

With France and a similarly-run Germany ruling most of Europe, a war with the USSR may be inevitable. Gaulist Fascism is directly opposed to Stalinist Communism, with only Poland between the two powers, they'd come to blows soon enough.

OoC/ Gaullism, ITTL, refers to De Gaulles' own branch of Fascism, De Gaulles being the leader of France ITTL, [obviously]. /OoC

OOC: True but it sounds like he is just an artist.

Guys! Why is it so hard to think outside of the box here? We have WI's of why Nixon not going on tv would make him loose to Kennedy, and Mao going Marxist after killing off his unit against the Japanese, yet it is not possible for Hitler to become evil?

The guy was in Germany during the great depression, and if guys like Luddke can go from a devote Catholic to a raving mademan it is possible for Hitler to do the same. True Hitler was a staunch democrat in his alter years, he was rare in having a job, plus his mother was supporting him for a few years. So WI he didn't have a job? Or his mother died in 1918?

I refuse to believe that no matter what occurs a person cannot change. If a series of bad events happens to Hitler he can change his views on life. I mean the guy spoke of how posionous Jews are to a society so you can expand upon that. Maybe deport a bunch of them, or soemthing.

What if Hitler's older brother had died at a young age, and his parents had slammed down an emotional iron curtain between them and him. Then, say he's exposed to cruel, humiliating hazing at a boarding school and a harsh, sadistic biology teacher, and I'll bet Marks to Bratwurst that even a man of Herr Hitler's stature a graciousness would have become an evil monster.

here it is, instead of hitler getting famous on his pretty little paintings what if he carved up whores and homeless and painted them, everyone thinking he was just another twisted soul from the great wars? all the while the police are searching for the Brandenburg slasher, or the TRK hood (Torture Rape Kill hoodlum), now when he moves on to architecture he gets really adventurous and fills the foundation and walls of the famous Berlin Museum of Natural History with the bodies of his victims, this time mostly children... THEN as the leader of Germany his villanous impulses are let loose and he invades russia and the slavic states, enslaving the masses and killing most of them...who would stop him?? he'd probably be allied with those fascist frogs who already were anti jewish and what not...what a terrible world that would be

You mean the NSDAP? Possible - I mean, it is quite clear that Hitler was an anti-Semite (despite having Jews in his cabinet he just didn't like them in general and said so), so he might have been drawn to the NSDAP and that might have increased his prejudice. (By the way, I just checked - the pejorative used by the Germans against the NSDAP was actually "Nazi", with an I.)

What if Hitler's older brother had died at a young age, and his parents had slammed down an emotional iron curtain between them and him.
I'll go with that. After all, Hitler actually did have two siblings who died before he was born (a brother Otto, and a sister Ida). If Gustav Hitler had died young then Adolf wouldn't have had any kind of friend or ally against his father, who was apparently a drunken loony.

Hitlers autobiography "Mein Bruderkampf" tells how his brother Gustav was his inspiration to give up his successful career as an artist and architect and enter politics. See the quotes below.

The possiblities of a "Evil" Hitler are endless without his brother perhaps he is teased mercilessly at school until so angry he brings a gun in and shoots his classmates.

Maybe he will blame his mother for not stopping the beatings and take to struggling older women who remind him of her.

Rejected twice at the Academy he sets fire to it while full of students after first insuring all exits are blocked.

Unhinged from the Great War he travels to England and assassinates King Edward setting off a second war with Britain.

Without the fame and money to back his social justice leanings he could turn to radical ways like the Anarchists in the 19th century and start blowing up buildings etc.

"While only four years older then me it was Gustav who stood his ground between me and a beating from my drunken father"

Adolf he said you can stay with me and Freda in Vienna for as long as it takes for the idiots at the Academy to recognize what a great painter you are. (On my third attempt the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts accepted my application)

War is hell on earth in the barbed wire and mud of the battle field normal, average, everyday men do unspeakable acts of cruelty to each other with gas and bullets and bombs. All that keep me sane during the worst in the trenchs was a small photo Gustav had send of his a Freda baby daughter a small beacon of hope in the darkness despair

I could not believe it when Freda called Gustav the most loyal company man ever had lost his job casted aside like yesterdays newspaper. At first I though only of how to help my brother. It was then I looked beyond the gallery opening parties and the grand marble buildings I designed out into streets. What I saw was not just my brother but thousand no a million peoples brothers, cold, hungry and looking for work. This was not a Germany I wished to live in, enraged at the injustice of it I vowed to used my wealth, fame and contactions to build a better Reich.
