DBWI: Europeans colonizing Asia instead of the other way around.

What if, instead of masterful Chinese seamen seeing it as their duty to explore and enlighten the rest of the world, it had been EUROPEANS rounding the Cape of Storms and colonizing Asia? Would we still be living in this enlightened age? Or would we still be in the throes of chaos caused by the fall of Rome, even 1500 years later?

No way this is going to happen, just compare Asian technology and ships to the European variant of that time. Besides the Asian population was way bigger then the European. How could Europe ever compete with that?
I think that if, by some magical space bat interference, the Europeans where to colonize Asia, it would have reduced technological development. Its a fact that Chinese were more technologically developed back then, so why wouldn't they trade with Europe and make big bucks out of it? They had a complete monopoly on trade!?

Europe would probably be more Catholic and Orthodox Christian.
