DBWI: European-dominated World

What would happen if the continent of Europa (Europe) dominated the world, the same way the continent of Yazhou (Asia) dominated the world through Colonialism, Imperialism, and the sort?

Ironically, having the Rhomanian Empire (one of the two first world countries in Europe to modernize on it's own with the other being Britannia) fall to Muslim invaders could lead to Europe becoming more powerful as any potential "Crusades" would probably lead to returning "crusaders" bringing Muslim sciences with them home?

Well for one, Europe has a much smaller population, so it seems unlikely that they will be able to colonize as much, you can expect a lot of Africa to basically stay wilderness whilst probably the Inca empire won't get conquered thanks to its distance.
I also wonder what the most powerful part of Europa would be, perhaps Italy as its place in the center of the Mediterranean Sea would make it a rich trade power and allows a lot of technological and cultural exchange (which will also help North-Africa also becoming as modernized).

Europa did have some limited influence over the rest of the world IOTL- the Norse explored and settled in the Northeastern part of the New World, and of course Britannia had colonies in the Spice Islands (Caribbean) and far-eastern New World.

There was a two or three century period where they were competing with China, Nippon, Hindustan, and Bharat, and held influence all across their Atlantic Ocean- but eventually the trade imbalance with other countries was too much, and the Kongo and Mali rose to curtail any influence they had in the Southern Continent, and then worst of all the Deluge. That horrendous series of wars, inquisitions, and strife ruined any shot Europa had of dominating the world, and hurt nearby powers like Rhomania as well.

Well Europa never really recovered from the fall of what is considered the Western Rhomanian Empire. It's fall was such an economic and cultural implosion that much of its former territory is still feeling the after effects. The period of warlordism that followed created a lot of the ethnic strife that is still present in the region today. It pretty much made certain that most of the nations focused locally rather than having the resources to expand outwardly. Britannia was more or less spared a lot of this thanks to the fact that being an island they were both hard to invade and and were more self-sustaining. Plus it drove them to create a sea fairing tradition.

So, why do you think does Asia dominate the world?
Well ignoring the now debunked concepts of ethnic superiority and spiritual mandates the most commonly held belief is that Yazhou benefited from a strong tradition toward a central state to drive a robust economy. When combined with the resource rich landscape there was a large enough monetary base to encourage expansion and enough materials to encourage trade exploration.

Why do you think were the Britannians and the Rhomanians able to pull off their modernizations? Is it possible that the Empire of Germania, the Kingdom of Avaria, or the Kingdom of Francia could have pulled a "Laskaris" or a "Lelouch" (OOC:TTL's terms for "pulling a Meiji")?

Britannia is a special case. Despite what its natives say, it is racially and culturally homogeneous compared to other areas of Europa and it has all the resources needed for industrialisation readily available. However most of all somehow it has acquired a belief that it is protected by God (well their version). Nobody has pulled off a successful invasion of the islands since the 11th century (using their Christian based calendar), it escaped the worst effects of the plagues that ravaged the rest of the continent and it stumbled into a stable form of government which shouldn't work but somehow does!
Stability plus resources and examples from elsewhere on how to do it and an almost insane self belief in their specialness enabled them to pull a "Lelouch".

And Rhomania is Rhomania, They are always the strongest power outside of Asia. They have a decent enough populatiom and economic base to compete with Asia, And Considering we got the printing press,, advanced metalurgy (They use it to build bells of all thing) and Greek fire, its possible for them to get to steam engine first.

Anyway It can pull a laskaris because it has a effecient adminstartion (the Kommenian code which is still used to today) and a strategic position, so they are used to ideas and was able to adapt quickly.
