What would have happened if Gabon had not invaded and annexed Equatorial Guinea?
How long could Nguema (probably the second most horrible dictator ever, after only Leopold of Belgium) have continued to rule before the country collapsed or he was deposed by other means?
In general, how much worse would Equatorial Guinea have been? I know that it is considered to be a "cinderella province" of Gabon, with most of its oil money not being funnelled back into it, little attention from the central government and a large independence movement, but a continuing Nguema dictatorship would have probably been much worse.
