It was that Summer in Italy where after a brutal and violent game with Argentina in the final, England became World Champions and ended 25 years of hurt. As a Scotsman, it is one of annoyance to hear the same story be told over and over again.
However in hindsight, it's probably not a bad thing that they won as for us Scots, we felt determined and we not only made it to Euro 96, we got to the final, facing England of all teams in it.
A lot of things have changed in the British game since and I've always wondered how things could've been very different if England had not been World Champions in 1990? How different things might've been?
