Hey folks. I'm working on a website that has information on all the armed forces of Francophone countries, and I'm up to Nile and hitting a brick wall. Wikipedia - at least the English and even French versions - doesn't have much, and I can't read the Arabic page.

This is what I have so far:

Armée de l'Empire du Nil

4 armored divisions - 1e "l'Aigle", 2e "Sphinx", 3e "Grande pyramide", 4e "Phare"

8 mech inf divisions - 5e "Le Delta", 7e "Grand Caire", 8e "Sinaï", 11e "Désert-Ouest", 15e "Bas-Nil", 16e "Moyen-Nil", 17e "Haut-Nil", 20e "Nubie"

1 heavy mech inf division - "Garde Impériale" (4 mechanized infantry brigades, 2 armor brigades)

5 independent armored brigades - "Crocodile", ? ? ? ?

3 independent infantry brigades - ? ? ?

1 air mobile brigade - "Phénix"

1 airborne brigade - "Bénou"

8 special forces regiments - ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Now, questions:

1) Does anybody have the names, or even numbers, for the units I couldn't ID?

2) Is the Gendarmerie still part of the Nilotic Armed Forces, or Ministry of the Interior again?

3) How big a role do the Vingt Mille (and isn't it more like 250,000 now, anyway?) play in the military these days? Is the number of French-descended officers still disproportionately large?

4) Related to that, do people in the Nile actually use the French unit names as above, or Arabic? Would a Nilotic soldier call the 1st armored division l'Aigle or Oqab?

((Basically a not entirely plausible ATL where Napoleon decides to stay in Egypt and somehow becomes the founder of a lasting dynasty))
