DBWI: Effects on the Cold War if the Soviets don't take France?

Maybe the Chinese Premier isn't assassinated by the Maquis in 1973 and we avoid the unfortunate "Garden Flowerpot" incident with Chinese State Security. Then again the Republic of Germany (i.e. Bavaria, Baden, Wurtemberg, Saxony, and Thurungia) might not include Luxembourg, Alsace-Lorraine, Austria, or Czechia had France remained free. Thorez tried to maintain control of Vietnam and created Free Republic of Indochina in the process but Duclos created another in his own backyard with his obsession that German culture was permeating France and Rochet's quiet belief in Roman Catholicism with his assassination in Nancy with ironic retaliation against the whole of the populace. Hard to see why Luxembourg, Alsace, Lorraine, and Franche-Comte broke off after the Winter of Paris and joined Germany after threatened with invasion barely two weeks later.

The biggest thing i can think of would be no 'British Renaissance.' With most of France's empire under the soviet sphere except algiers, (only because Soviet France was more worried about europe and Mali and Mauritania weren't industrialized enough until after the collapse) America was making sure Britain kept its empire. literally the only stipulation Truman or FDR gave was better racial equality as the us made those same moves. With so much money and new cultural tolerance and equality britain has been seeing a cultural boom unseen in ages. Hell, Eneemesh* literally only exists because of this. If France remained capitalistic, i could see Truman or LBJ pushing decolonization, especially if it put the nationalists on us-side.

*OOC: British-Indian money and cultural collaboration turned to TTL's anime.
