1987 the aids crisis was bad the average survival time for some one with aids was 18 months.

In Keene state a post doctoral student named Bruce Spencer, has dug up information on bacterial phage therapy. Five months ago his brother informed him that he had aids. In a desperate bid to do anything to save him he sold his car and managed to get some bacterial phages. They do not work on the virus in an act of desperation he goes to the physics department after midnight and hit a sample of his phages with radiation.

This shouldn't have worked at all, the radiation burst should have destroyed the phagues, but instead they mutated them, the new phages were tested and devoured the virus. In an act that many people called desperate he called his brother and used the phages on him.

With in 3 weeks he was HIV free, after another 3 years of testing the cure was made available to the public aids if caught early enough could be cured, but what if the phages hadn't mutated like that? What if the cure didn't exist what would our world look like today?
